Lesson 2

Once we had a definition of what an animal was we used an Alphabet sheet to come up with as many animals as we could beginning with each letter of the alphabet.

This could be adapted and you could get children working together to make an alphabet booklet.

I collated the animals that children had come up with gave them a copy.
Children then sorted their animals into their own categories.

Children came up with a variety of ways to sort their animals
_ by the number of legs
_ where they live eg. farm, zoo, jungle
_ types of animals eg, reptiles, mammals, fish, bird
