Lesson 3

Children loved having the animals in the classroom or on the tables because so much was happening.

_ Tadpoles were slowly getting bigger and starting to grow legs

_ Eggs had become silkworms and were starting to spin.

_ Children would get bloodworms from our pond and watch the tortoise eating.

While they were observing the animals I got them to draw and label the body parts.
They gathered books from the Library, went on the Internet to and found information about their animal.
They made a replica of their animal out of plasticene and also used a variety of colored paper to create an image of their animal.
