Students were
asked to draw up a table as shown below and use their Periodic table to
find the symbols for the given elements. They were then requested to make
a card for each element. The cards had the element's name on one side
and the element's symbol on the other. We played bingo at the beginning
of our lessons on a regular basis.
The
game consisted of the students dealing out 10 cards, I would tell them
whether to have the name or the symbol facing upwards. If the symbol was
facing upwards I would call out the name of the elements until someone
called out bingo. If the name was facing upwards I would call out the
symbols.
