Scientists trying to find a pattern among the elements had to cope with a few problems. To start with, some of the so-called elements were really compounds. The data that they were using was often incomplete and inaccurate. To add to their difficulties they had not realised that not all the elements had been discovered.

Your task:

   To research the lives of some scientists who played an important role in the development of the periodic table.

   To present your information in an attractive and eye catching way .

   To analyse your information and decide which scientist played the most important role in the development of the periodic table.


Assessment criteria:            Total= 15 marks

   Evidence of wide research. Submission of a bibliography.(2)

   Information about the scientist.(5)

   Opinion about the most important scientist.(3)

   Presentation.(5)
