Aboriginal People Of The Adelaide Plains.........An Aboriginal Studies Course For Secondary Students In Years 8-10.

 

Lesson 4

Refer to Examining Leaves Notes for background information to become familiar in Indigenous leaf structure. Provide comparison of non-indigenous leaf structure.

Lesson 5

Aboriginal Use Of Indigenous Plants

A. Introduce language provided on proforma. Have children brainstorm possibilities for the six categories.

B. Provide students with proforma titled "Aboriginal Use Of Indigenous Plants".

C. Teacher to provide examples of three different leaves.

The Aboriginal Use Trail Upper Primary booklet is available through The Adelaide Botanical gardens Education Unit. It will outline how these plants can be used.
