Bring Space Science into the Classroom with a Free Space-Inspired Cookbook

The ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space (Plants for Space) has released a free, space-inspired cookbook that combines food, science and real-world research to help bring STEM learning to life.

Plants for Space: Recipes for the Modern Space Cook explores the fascinating world of food for future space missions, with more than 25 recipes contributed by researchers, international collaborators, students and members of Australia's space community.

More than just a cookbook, this free resource provides opportunities to explore how plants could support long-duration space travel while making connections to everyday life. It also includes Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 links and classroom learning ideas, making it an accessible resource for educators across a range of year levels.

Developed as part of the Plants for Space team's National Science Week celebrations, the cookbook encourages students and the wider community to engage with cutting-edge research through the familiar lens of cooking. It highlights how science, innovation and collaboration can help solve real-world challenges, both on Earth and beyond.
