Description
This workshop emphasises three components: Questioning, investigations and assessment
Questioning is a vital part of science. Questions challenge student thinking at key points within a lesson or unit of study to connect concepts and drive investigations. Student thinking deepens as the teacher integrates the skill of questioning into each lesson. As students interact with the world through questioning and collaboration with others, they build understanding.
This workshop will guide teachers through an instructional model with questions at its core. Teachers will be engaged in a number of different types of investigations that explore a concept or phenomena. Through this hands-on learning teachers will develop questioning techniques and look at ways to assess student understanding.
