Description
In 1915 two scientists with Adelaide connections, Sir William Bragg and his son Sir Lawrence Bragg were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for their ground breaking research into the use of X-rays to study the chemical structure and function of molecules. Come and discover the personal history and the science behind the tale of two shy men who joined the ranks of the most important scientists of the twentieth century.
Engage in hands-on science investigations into the properties of light. These activities have been designed specifically for a Primary School classroom and linked to the Australian Curriculum: Science.
Visit the researchers applying this science to solve real world problems.
Gather resources. All participants will receive a colourful Big Book about the Braggs to use with their students, as well as a USB filled with other great resources.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

The workshop reflects the Australian Professional Teaching Standards. Teachers will receive a certificate of attendance that details the Standards covered.
