Celebrating Science Education in South Australia: SASTA’s 2025 Highlights

As we reflect on 2025, it’s clear this has been another meaningful year for the South Australian science education community.

From conferences and professional learning workshops to celebrating outstanding educators and sharing stories across our digital platforms, SASTA continued to support teachers in bringing science to life for students across the state.

Together with our members, partners and volunteers, we created opportunities for educators to connect, learn and inspire the next generation of curious thinkers.

Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from the year.

2025 Year in Review 7Top Social Media Moment

Our most engaging social media post of the year celebrated one of the many educators making a powerful impact in science education.

Sarah Todd, from Coromandel Valley Primary School, received the 2025 SASTA Honour Award at the World Teachers’ Day celebration.

From leading biodiversity projects to launching coding challenges with her students, Sarah brings science learning to life both inside and outside the classroom. Her work reminds us of the power of curiosity, creativity and connection to Country in science education.
