Youth ANZAAS 2026 is a national residential science program for students in Years 10–12, offering a unique opportunity to explore real-world science and connect with leading researchers.

Delivered by the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science, the program brings together students from across Australia to gain insight into the practice and application of science, beyond the classroom.

Participants take part in a week-long program, including:

  • Visits to universities, laboratories and research facilities
  • Presentations and discussions with scientists and researchers
  • Hands-on activities and exposure to current scientific work
  • Opportunities to connect with like-minded students interested in STEM

The program is designed to broaden students’ understanding of science pathways and inspire future study and careers in STEM.

Who should apply:

  • Students in Years 10–12 with a strong interest in science
  • Students who are curious about real-world scientific research and careers

Selection is typically based on students’ interest in science and academic merit, with consideration given to diverse backgrounds.
