2018 STEM - Beginning with the Science (Primary)
STEM teaching and learning involves the successful integration of science, mathematics and technology. Planning and implementing effective lessons that have STEM focus depends largely on teachers’ understanding and knowledge of the subject matter.
These workshops aims to deepen teacher’s science content knowledge and expertise in teaching that content to all kinds of learners.
The workshops will provide teachers with links to explicit curriculum materials, investigations and contemporary pedagogical strategies that will enable them to successfully plan and deliver integrated science programs with a STEM focus.
The workshops will actively engage teachers in science investigations, using an inquiry approach to build conceptual understanding. Teachers will also be challenged to explore the opportunities to integrate technology and mathematics to support the learning.
This workshop will focus on the Chemical Sciences.
A STEM - Beginning with the Science (Secondary) workshop is scheduled for 24/8/18.
