2025 Country Teacher Travel Scholarship

SASTA is offering two $250 scholarships to support early career science teachers from country or remote areas of South Australia to attend the SASTA Early Career Teachers Conference on Friday, 10th October 2025. The scholarship is intended to assist with travel expenses, and recipients will also receive complimentary conference registration.

This one-day conference provides graduates and teachers in the first few years of their careers with an opportunity to reflect on their professional identity, strengthen their teaching practice, enhance their wellbeing, and build connections with fellow early career educators. The program includes a range of workshops covering key topics relevant to both Primary and Secondary science teachers.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:
✔ Be in their first five years of teaching science
✔ Be based in a country or remote area of South Australia
✔ Demonstrate how attending the conference will benefit their professional growth
✔ Show a commitment to sharing their learnings with their school or broader teaching community
