The 2026 STEM Reading and Design Competition is open to R-12 students and will run during Term 2. 

The PRC and partners are again chellning students to read about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the lead up to National Science Week. 

The reading and design competition started in 2016 and last year 3125 entries were received! You can see last year's fantastic winning entries here. 

This years themes are: 

  • STEM
  • Nature in South Australia
  • Space
  • Renewable Energy 

Entires close Friday 19 June 2026. 

To enter, students need to read a STEM, nature, space, or renewable energy themed book, preferably from the PRC booklist, and then use their imagination to create an entry.
