The Big Science Competition is open to students in Years 7 to 10 globally. It’s a 50-minute, mixed format online science competition testing science knowledge, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Questions are set in real-life, contemporary contexts, making them relatable… and interesting!
2026 Dates: Monday 4 May to Friday 15 May
Registrations are open. Registrations close 28 April 2026 5pm AEST.
- Challenge secondary and high school students from Years 7 to 10.
- Track their performance against state and national averages.
- Questions are aligned with the Australian Curriculum – Science.
- Four paper levels which correspond to each year level.
- Australian schools and students can win great prizes! T&C’s apply.
The Big Science Competition will cost AUD$9.35 per student (GST inclusive for Australian schools).
