Science Alive's STEM Careers Day returns on Friday 7 August 2026, providing secondary students with an exciting opportunity to explore future pathways in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Held at the Adelaide Showground, STEM Careers Day brings together more than 80 exhibitors, industry professionals, educators and training providers, offering students valuable insights into the diverse and rewarding careers available across STEM industries.
For many students, choosing senior secondary subjects and considering future study options can feel overwhelming. STEM Careers Day helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and future careers by allowing students to connect directly with professionals, discover emerging industries and explore the many pathways available after school.
Students attending can:
- Meet STEM professionals and employers
- Explore study and career pathways
- Participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations
- Learn about emerging industries and future opportunities
- Gain a better understanding of how STEM skills translate into real-world careers
SASTA will be there throughout the day alongside our colleagues from the South Australian Museum and Nature Education Centre, showcasing opportunities for students to engage with science beyond the classroom.
Be sure to visit the Oliphant Science Awards stand, where students and teachers can learn more about South Australia's largest science competition and discover how participation can help develop scientific thinking, creativity and communication skills.
