Description
The workshop will focus on building capacity around planning and delivering STEM focussed learning experiences for Early Years (R-2) classrooms. Science will be the context of the learning and the Engineering Design Process will be the mechanism. Educators will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of science concepts through hands-on exploration. They will also employ elements of the engineering design process to apply this learning to a real-world context.
Goals of the workshop:
- To develop a common understanding of STEM education.
- To develop conceptual understanding in science through a hands-on inquiry based approach to learning.
- To understand the elements of, and use, the Engineering Design Process.
- To build confidence and capacity in planning and delivering a program that uses a STEM approach to learning.
