Celebrating Student Science

Science Alive! is Australia's largest science exhibition, bringing together science organisations, educators, researchers and industry professionals to inspire thousands of students, teachers and families each year.

Since 2022, SASTA has proudly partnered with Science Alive! to showcase student achievement and provide engaging science experiences for the South Australian community.

Through this partnership, Science Alive! provides a valuable platform for students to share their work, connect with the public and celebrate their achievements in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Showcasing Student Achievement

SASTA coordinates the Oliphant Science Awards exhibition space at Science Alive!, creating an opportunity for visitors to explore the outstanding work of South Australia's young scientists.

Winning entries from the Oliphant Science Awards are displayed throughout the event, allowing students to share their ideas, investigations and innovations with a broader audience.

The exhibition also features winning entries from the Premier's Reading Challenge STEM Challenge and provides a dedicated space for the Mary Anning Art Prize, highlighting the creativity, curiosity and scientific thinking of students from across the state.

Hands-On Science Experiences

In partnership with organisations including the Australian Institute of Physics and the South Australian Museum, SASTA also delivers interactive "come and try" activities that encourage visitors to explore science through hands-on learning.

These activities provide opportunities for students and families to engage directly with scientific concepts and discover the excitement of STEM.

Growing Impact

Since the partnership began, the Oliphant Science Awards presence at Science Alive! has continued to grow, increasing opportunities for student recognition, public engagement and collaboration with other science organisations.

Together, SASTA and Science Alive! are helping to inspire the next generation of scientists, innovators and problem-solvers while showcasing the incredible talent of South Australian students.
